More than 130 people gathered at the Fowler Museum's Lenart Auditorium for a talk by UCLA Meteorite Gallery and Collection Curator John Wasson. The EPSS Professor Emeritus regaled attendees with the story of the historic Treysa meteorite and his own research into the characteristics of that meteorite and other important specimens. Following the talk, a panel discussed the significance of meteorite studies and its impact across a variety of disciplines. The panel included Wasson, EPSS Researcher and Meteorite Gallery Co-Curator Alan Rubin, EPSS Chair Jean-Luc Margot, UCLA EPSS graduate student Kaitlyn McCain, emergency medicine doctor and meteorite collector Peter Utas, and meteorite collector, artist, and philanthropist Arlene Schlazer. Before the talk, attendees were given the chance to hold and examine a variety of meteorites.
