Abstract:
The discovery of subsurface oceans on icy moons such as Europa and Enceladus has revolutionized our understanding of habitable environments beyond Earth. This talk will explore the science and technology driving the next generation of missions to these ocean worlds. We will discuss how instruments designed for detecting biosignatures, measuring ice-ocean interactions, and mapping subsurface structures are advancing planetary science. By combining insights from terrestrial analogs, laboratory experiments, and spacecraft observations, we aim to unravel the potential for life in these distant water-rich environments.
