DEI Committee's Career Networking Event

The DEI committee co-sponsored a career networking event for students interested in environmental careers on March 12th at the Luskin Conference Center. During the early morning session a fantastic group of panelists spanning public and private careers talked about their careers, journeys and challenges, followed by a very lively question and answer session. In the mid-morning session participants had a chance to share their resumes and participate in mock interviews. During the morning break and catered lunch there were many opportunities for one on one informal networking. The event was attended by 16 participants, mostly from EPSS and our 2YC partners. It was extremely well received and participants expressed the desire to have more occasions of this kind (which we are working on!). The event was co-organized by the EPSS DEI Committee with help from one of our EFMP presidents Valeria Jaramillo and Matt Pendleton of EKI Environment & Water Inc.. It was generously funded by EKI Environment & Water Inc, EPSS, AEG (Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists) and the Groundwater Resources Association (Southern California Branch). We thank the panelists for volunteering their free time on a Saturday morning: Kimberly Badescu, Michelle Dallalah, Mehran Ebrahimi, Moises Santillan, Abhishek Singh, Susan Xie and Yue Rong.
