The Meteorite Gallery of UCLA is currently seeking two highly motivated undergraduate students to help with our meteorite collection. The position could start as early as in August and expect to last over a year. Students that are starting their junior year this fall are preferred.
About the Meteorite Gallery
The Meteorite Gallery of UCLA hosts over 2500 samples from >1500 meteorites (https://meteorites.ucla.edu/). It is the biggest meteorite collection on the west coast and the second largest of US universities. Meteorites are specimens of extraterrestrial bodies that fell on Earth. Originated from asteroids and planetary bodies such as Mars and Moon, meteorites carry vital information on the formation and evolution of the Solar System. Our collection is utilized for both exhibition and scientific research. The Meteorite Gallery is currently in the need of cataloging a suite of meteorites recently donated to UCLA, and inventory check of the big collection.
