In Memory of An Yin: Memorial Celebration (Video!) and Fund

EPSS held a memorial event honoring An’s life and scientific legacy at the UCLA Faculty Center (opens in a new tab) on September 23rd. In a well attended event we honored his main scientific contributions and had time for more personal reminiscences from family, friends and colleagues. The department has established the Professor An Yin Memorial Fund. It is our goal is to raise $600,000 in gifts and/or pledges to convert this current expenditure fund into an endowment named after Professor Yin, and to grow this endowment over time with support from family, friends, and colleagues. If a minimum of $350,000 in gifts and/or pledges is raised by June 30, 2024, the fund may be converted to an endowed fund to support fieldwork. Additionally, should we meet our goal of $600,000 by June 30, 2024, the Dean of the Division of Physical Sciences has pledged a 100% match to double the impact of this special memorial fund.
