Visiting Professor Robert Newton is the recipient of the 2010 Roebling Medal of the Mineralogical Society of America. The Roebling Medal is MSA's highest award. It is granted for scientific eminence as represented primarily by scientific publication of outstanding original research in mineralogy. This award recognizes Bob's distinguished career marked by sustained excellence - first as student here at UCLA, then as a professor at the University of Chicago, and then in his return to his LA roots here again at UCLA. Mark your calendars for all the festivities, which will be at next year's annual GSA meeting in Denver. Meanwhile, congratulations, Bob, on this great honor!
