2019 Commencement Celebration

The Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences (EPSS) invites all of our graduating students and award recipients, along with their families and friends, to join the EPSS faculty at a special 2019 Commencement Celebration lunch and awards ceremony on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 12:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will take place on the Young Hall Patio (located between the Geology Building and Young Hall).

The Celebration will feature a luncheon buffet, introduction of graduate degree and baccalaureate degree candidates, a valedictory speech, a Commencement speech by former astronaut and EPSS alumnus John L. Phillips, and presentation of Departmental scholarships and awards. There will be a charge of $25 per person, except for graduating students and award recipients, who will receive a complimentary ticket to attend free of charge.  Also, there will be a group photo (graduates, please remember to bring your cap and gown from the College of Letters & Science Commencement event on Friday, June 14, or the Graduate Division Doctoral Hooding ceremony on Thursday, June 13, for the photo).

EPSS alum John L. Phillips is an astronaut who has spent over 6 months in space.  He will be the 2019 EPSS Commencement Speaker.
