Justin Simon, EPSS alumn and lead of the Center for Isotope Cosmochemistry and Geochronology at NASA, published a paper on a heat-pipe planets hypothesis with fellow EPSS alums William Moore, who was advised by Professor Emeritus Gerald Schubert and is now a Professor at Hampton University, and Alexander Webb, who was advised by Professor An Yin and is now Associate Professor at University of Hong Kong.

"We believe that the concept of a heat-pipe mode of planet formation is important and will help explain the evolution of all rocky planets," Simon said.
